Since the first March for Freedom event was announced for October 2006, people have been asking the question “why do you have to be so confrontational? Why don’t you go to queens park to protest?” and the answer has always been that nobody would care if we did.

Yesterday however we decided to test that theory by loading up a bus and taking the residents of Caledonia to protest at Queens Park. By all accounts it was a successful event which saw us peacefully deliver our message about the continuing lack of basic law and order in front of the Ontario Legislature.

Mayor Fred Eisenberger says he can’t say whether Hamilton police would remove native protesters from disputed private property, even if land owners requested the intervention.

“We need to be informed by our police and our staff as to what our jurisdiction is and what our rights are in terms of what we could or could not do,” Eisenberger said.

“And I don’t want to speculate on a hypothetical here.”

DESERONTO – Roads leading into Deseronto are closed this morning after native protesters set up blockades on the east side of the town in protest of a proposed land development.  (Edit: Ahhh yes the same Deseronto who last year said they had no need for “outsiders” like us because they have no problems up there)

Demonstrators (Edit: Demonstrators? Please.. Criminals, Terrorists, Militants, Thugs, take your pick) set up blockades overnight on County Road 2 and the intersection of Bridge Street West and and Deseronto Road.
