DESERONTO – Roads leading into Deseronto are closed this morning after native protesters set up blockades on the east side of the town in protest of a proposed land development. (Edit: Ahhh yes the same Deseronto who last year said they had no need for “outsiders” like us because they have no problems up there)
Demonstrators (Edit: Demonstrators? Please.. Criminals, Terrorists, Militants, Thugs, take your pick) set up blockades overnight on County Road 2 and the intersection of Bridge Street West and and Deseronto Road.
The blockades were set up after Nibourg Developments announced the development company would proceed with work to clear brush on land it owns on the Culbertson Tract – a swath of land currently under negotiation between the federal government and the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte.
(Edit: How dare Nibourg Developments enter their own land to clear brush.. Don’t they realize that someone who has no authority objects to their perfectly legal actions and has no right to interfere?)
The Ontario Provincial Police are standing by, monitoring the situation and motorists have been asked to seek alternative routes near the town.
(Edit: Standing by to do what exactly other than arrest any non Natives who dare try to exercise their right to peaceful resistance of Terrorism?)
