Last night, (Jan 13 2011) Governor General Award winning author Christie Blatchford was a guest on TVO’s The Agenda with Steve Paikin where she discussed Caledonia and her book Helpless – Caledonia’s Nightmare of Fear and Anarchy and how the law failed all of us.

Viewers were weighing in throughout the 32 minute interview via a web chat with mixed opinions. Some still fail to understand that there is no valid claim to DCE, some think that the words “land claim” possess the magical ability to absolve those who utter them of any responsibility for their actions, and some finally understand the facts that we have been presenting to the public for almost 5 years.

Fortunately, our own Mark Vandermaas was in the chat room rebuking the revisionist nonsense and sharing links to key documents with all involved. You can read about the fun he had last night here.

Without further adieu, here is the video.

  1. Dick Field says:

Excellent. Christie is a remarkable journalist. Steve conducted one of his best interviews. Let us hope the authorities have reconstructed their approach and in the future will uphold the law. Not likely because our leaders and the justice system have put in place programs, policies and a courts guided by so-called Human Rights and a Charter that fail to uphold any of our English speaking traditions. They have become accustomed to spur of the moment non-law. Things will get worse. Let’s hope I’m wrong.

  2. Jeff Parkinson says:

You’re not wrong per se, but the policies and practices that allow race based policing in Ontario are not able to stand up to direct scrutiny by the courts. Gary McHale and I have both been able to obtain precedent setting superior court rulings resulting in criminal charges against police officers who were practicing race based policing.

In fact, an upcoming court case will decide whether Julian Fantino among others will face criminal charges for the entirely preventable nearly fatal attack on Sam Gualtieri in 2007.

When the McGuinty government falls which it appears likely to do later this year, the PC party will have the power to undo much of the damage that Dalton has done in his 8 years in office including the ridiculous and failed race based justice system.
