Tamils give Toronto a small taste of Caledonia

In an event eerily similar to Caledonia thus far, a relatively small group of Tamil “protestors” marched onto the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto this evening shutting down a major artery of the city and disrupting the lives of thousands of innocent bystanders who happened to be on the wrong highway at the wrong time.

Why did they do it? To further their political agenda. They want Canada to interfere in the affairs of a sovereign nation, and as this site will not become a vessel for the agenda of this or any other extremist group, I’m not going to elaborate on their demands.

How did they do it? They put women and children in front to keep the cops at bay and marched onto The Gardiner at Spadina waving red flags and talking about genocide. This is all very familiar to those involved in the Caledonia crisis.

John Tory – Goodbye and good riddance

Like many other lucky Conservatives, I awoke this morning to the happy news that John Tory lost yesterday’s byelection to Liberal Rick Johnson and tendered his long overdue resignation this afternoon. As some may recall, Tory not only blew the Provincial Election for the PC party in 2007, he lost his own riding and has been a laughing stock ever since.

For many their last memory of John Tory may be that he lost an established Conservative seat to the Liberals because of his selfish refusal to step down, or the fact that even when an MPP tried to hand him her seat the voters refused to choke on a term of Tory leadership, but I’d like to share a story about Mr. Tory and what could have been. This is one of many (MANY) stories that we have never shared with the public.

Your chance to change history

Updated October 11, 2007 – As we all know by now, the worst Premier in Ontario history has been elected to a second reign of horror. This is not good news for Caledonia or anyone who cares about law and order in Ontario, but it’s not the end of the battle. The things worth having in this life are not only worth fighting for but usually require fighting for and that is what we will continue to do.

Today is the single biggest chance we have to change the landscape of what’s happening in Caledonia, and all you have to do to make a difference is take a few minutes to put a check mark in a box.

For anyone considering not voting today I ask you the following:

How would you feel if your vote could have been the one that knocks McGuinty out of power but you didn’t bother to do it? Remember the election that saw Bush elected was decided by a handful of votes.

Is the suffering of the children of the Sixth Line not worth taking a few minutes to vote against? Remember some of those who need McGuinty defeated the most are too young to vote, but you can cast yours on their behalf.

If you’re not sure that John Tory will keep his word and end the lawlessness, ask yourself what will Dalton McGuinty do if re elected?

Is that few minutes spent doing something else today worth 4 more years of being grossly overtaxed and knowing that your money is paying to keep illegal occupations, extortion and the oppression on your rights going?

How do you feel about the fact that every tax dollar you pay for the next 4 years will not begin to cover the cost of the OPP sitting in their cars refusing to help as someone is beaten nearly to death?

How does it feel knowing that every time McGuinty smiles for the camera, it’s because his hand is in your pocket?

How effectively can the billions of dollars from the McGuinty imposed health care tax have been spent when Sam Gualtieri was refused a CAT scan at almost every hospital his doctor had to call to beg to give him one?

If the current polls showing McGuinty way ahead are discouraging you, remember those are phone polls and half of those people won’t bother to vote today.

I’m going to spend the time it would take me to write a few more of these questions going out and casting my vote. I sincerely hope that you will all do the same!

Conservatives plan fines for ‘illegal occupations’

CALEDONIA — A provincial Conservative government would rewrite the trespass laws to give police more powerful tools to end “illegal occupations” such as the 18-month-old native blockade of the Douglas Creek Estates in Caledonia, PC Leader John Tory says.

Tory said he would broaden the definition of trespass to include illegal occupations and apply the law to any person or organization who encourages such actions as well as to the people who are on site.

Maximum fines would be $2,000 for individuals and $25,000 for organizations for each day that an occupation defies a court order to stop.

Tory said he has made seven previous visits to Caledonia to hear residents’ concerns, and even attempted without success to meet with Six Nations representatives, while Premier Dalton McGuinty has yet to make an appearance.

John Tory takes a tough stand on Caledonia

Remember this date ladies and gentlemen as today is the day that the Government silence and inaction on the lawless Native terrorism and extortion in Ontario died.

Conservative leader John Tory visited Caledonia today and made clear the position his PC government will take once in office on the curse that McGuinty has placed on Caledonia, and allowed to spread throughout the Province.

The following is from the official story as sent out by the PC party:

“Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory today returned to Caledonia, the site of the ongoing land-occupation, where he called for new leadership to resolve the current standoff and prevent other illegal occupations in the future.“For over a year and a half Dalton McGuinty has permitted an illegal occupation to paralyze this entire community,” Mr. Tory said, “He has failed the people of Ontario.

“To date, Dalton McGuinty has refused to insist on the rule of law when it comes to illegal occupations. The Caledonia occupation alone has cost Ontario taxpayers $55 million so far. Similar disputes have since threatened communities ranging from Desoronto, Brantford, Hagarsville, the Village of York, and Dunnville.

Tory announced today that he would move to protect Ontario communities from illegal occupations by strengthening existing laws.

“I am announcing today that a PC government will amend provincial statutes, including the Trespass to Property Act to address the breakdown in law that results from an illegal occupation,” said Tory. This new act would respect the valid interests of each side, protect innocent bystanders, and set a policy framework for police.”

He also outlined the new ground rules that a Progressive Conservative government would enforce when confronted with an illegal occupation:

• No negotiation with anyone engaging in an illegal occupation;
• Oppose any group using an illegal occupation to extort concessions or payments
• Insist that the authority of the courts, including court injunctions, are respected and enforced; and,

• Use the justice system to pursue civil action against those who participate in, direct, or financially support illegal occupations.

“I will stand up and stand beside the people of this province to ensure they are protected,” Tory concluded. “For a safe and strong Ontario, leadership matters.”

Indian Summer

Aboriginals who protest for day of action aren’t above the law: Ont. Opposition

Aboriginals gearing up for the June 29 national day of action should know they aren’t above the law and should be threatened with hefty fines or lawsuits if they set up illegal blockades, Ontario’s Opposition leader told an audience of provincial police chiefs Tuesday.Amid threats from at least one aboriginal protester that a key provincial highway and rail line in eastern Ontario may be targeted, Conservative Leader John Tory said the province should send a strong message that such behaviour is unacceptable, regardless of how legitimate the grievance may be.

“People have to understand that if they take the law into their own hands, there are going to be consequences for that,” Tory said following his speech to the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police in Waterloo, Ont. “We cannot allow a precedent to be established for anybody.”

“We have to send a message that says, the law is the law. We are all subject to the law. There aren’t exceptions to that.”

McGuinty calls Tory plan to keep promises “reckless”

Dalton McGuinty is smiling less and less these days, and with good reason. The early stages of John Tory’s platform for the upcoming election are shaping up beautifully and to say Dalton is struggling would be an understatement.  Let’s have a look at the opposing platforms thus far.

John Tory promises there will be one law for all. No special treatment for Native Terrorists.

McGuinty is standing on a very shaky, completely biased IpperWhiteWash report which recommends that police abandon law & order in favor of “Sensitivity to Aboriginal needs”. His answer to the announced 2007 Summer of Terrorism? Ask the criminals to please behave.

McGuinty’s Cloak & Dagger Strategy Part 2

In a suprising interview, Dalton McGuinty allowed himself to actually be asked about the upcoming day of Terrorism June 29^th 2007. As the premier of Ontario, we should be able to look to him now for leadership during what we know are going to be increasingly tough times.

Sadly he has made it even more evident that we can not and should not trust him, because he has no idea what’s going on, and is only now addressing this because his opponent John Tory is running on a campaign that involves actual law and order.

Those who enjoyed  “Interview with Julian Fantino regarding Caledonia & 2 Tiered Justice” are likely to enjoy this. I’ll quote him verbatim and save my commentary for later.

When asked on CTV Question period point blank “what are you going to do about this” (the threat of a summer of railway shutdowns and promise of chaos at the hands of Mohawk warriors) McGuinty had this to say:

Occupation in Caledonia hurting Liberals

A short-lived aboriginal protest in Hagersville, Ont., on Wednesday prompted federal and Ontario officials to temporarily walk away from negotiations aimed at settling a 15-month occupation by Six Nations protesters in nearby Caledonia.

Opposition Leader John Tory said Ontario’s Liberal government should demand an end to the Caledonia occupation before negotiations with the Six Nations resume.

“I just find it interesting that in Hagersville, they walk away from the table when an occupation starts,” Tory said.

“But we have one in Caledonia that is affecting children, affecting neighbours, affecting businesses that’s been going on for 400 days, and they won’t insist that that come to an end or be phased out in order to continue the negotiations.”
