New Video – The Caledonia Eight Arrested

For those who have not yet heard, The Caledonia Eight is a group of people who on December 3, 2011 were arrested on Surrey Street in Caledonia because of the color of their skin. A trait over which they have no control.

The group consisting of Gary McHale, Merlyn Kinrade, Randy Fleming, Bonnie Stephens, Jack VanHalteren, Mark Vandermaas, Doug Fleming, & Jeff Parkinson had their freedom taken from them for walkilng down a public road owned by the Corporation of Haldimand County by order of the McGuinty government who does not own the road.

Earlier this year, Haldimand Mayor Ken Hewitt graced us with an endorsement of the construction of up to 200 new 450’ high wind turbines in Haldimand County, and a TV commercial called Community Commitment for the Samsung C&T Corporation which has mysteriously vanished from Youtube, but I have a copy so it will be back in due time.

Many have offered editorial responses through the local papers, & I thought seriously about a lengthy editorial here about why this is wrong, but decided instead on a video to sum up my thoughts on the relationship between Mr. Hewitt, Dalton McGuinty, & Samsung C&T.

The above preview for this video was released on November 12 2011, and frankly it did better than I expected, so here without further adieu is Community Corruption.

For those who may be concerned, if anyone with the means and motivation should try to get this video pulled, I have 8 backup copies ready to go so far which can easily become 20, 40, or 60 if need be.

Video: Christie Blatchford on The Agenda with Steve Paikin

Last night, (Jan 13 2011) Governor General Award winning author Christie Blatchford was a guest on TVO’s The Agenda with Steve Paikin where she discussed Caledonia and her book Helpless – Caledonia’s Nightmare of Fear and Anarchy and how the law failed all of us. 

Viewers were weighing in throughout the 32 minute interview via a web chat with mixed opinions. Some still fail to understand that there is no valid claim to DCE, some think that the words “land claim” possess the magical ability to absolve those who utter them of any responsibility for their actions, and some finally understand the facts that we have been presenting to the public for almost 5 years. 

Caledonia smoke shack demolished

Starting 2011 on a happy note, the illegal “broken promises” shack on highway 6 south of Caledonia was smashed to the ground today in a combined effort by the Six Nations Band Council, the Six Nations Police, and the OPP. 

For those who may have missed it, here is some very satisfying, wholesome, heart warming, fun for the whole family footage from CHCH news that I have taken the liberty of slowing down so that those of us who don’t support selling bags of insect eggs & human feces riddled contraband tobacco that was probably scraped off the floor of a factory in China to children, may watch it repeatedly.

There is for the moment no audio in this clip because Youtube didn’t like my choice of Tiny Tim singing Tip toe through the tulips as a soundtrack.

Video: Fantino blows off voters

Conservatives Against Fantino had the pleasure of attending the only public all candidates debate in Vaughan last night to hear what Julian Fantino & his opponents had to say to the voters with only 5 days left until the by election in which Fantino hopes to unseat the Liberals. 

Unfortunately for the voters and for all who believe in Democracy, Mr. Fantino blew off the event. Organizers made every effort to accommodate Julian including rescheduling this event to suit his schedule, but he was unwilling to engage his opponents in a public debate.

The DCE wind farm?

It’s no secret that the McGuinty Liberals have declared war on traditional power generating facilities such as the coal fired plant at Nanticoke, and that they’re hyping going “green” as an investment in our futures, but in their effort to appease environmentalists, are they going to go too far?

Plans to place wind farms and solar farms across the province have been talked about for years, but steps are being taken to make that a reality now and one may be coming closer to home than we think.

McGuinty is hell bent on spending a fortune installing monstrous windmills that will raise our hydro rates astronomically, and he’s got his eye on Haldimand County. Unlike many other municipalities who have passed resolutions calling for a moratorium until these machines are proven safe, Haldimand has set aside a reported 40,000 acres of land for Dalton to use.

There is no shortage of vacant land in Haldimand. The Liberals have ensured this by allowing development to be brought to a halt by Native extremists, but what McGuinty most needs is Crown land.

Renewable resouce?

Some Haldimand residents who live next to such land have learned that they can do nothing to stop wind farms from being built next door because much of it is Crown land. Complaining to the County will do nothing as they have no authority over the land, and trying to express concerns to the McGuinty Liberals has certainly not yielded positive results for residents with far more serious concerns than a windmill.

Will Lewis be Fantino 2.0?

For some time now, we’ve known that Julian Fantino was a lame duck commissioner. Sure he can still talk to the few who would want to listen, or rabble about how he is the commissioner, but we all know he’s on his way out, and nobody is crying the blues about it.

What we’ve not known until today is who would be hand picked by Dalton McGuinty to replace him. Would he find a genuine law and order police officer, or another lap dog to take Julian’s place? Speculation gave way today as McGuinty announced that deputy commissioner Chris Lewis will take the reigns when Julian steps down on August 1^st.

I don’t think I’ve ever met Mr. Lewis, but after nearly 4 years of steady involvement in Caledonia, I do know a few things about him.

Get ready to pay more

With the HST cash grab coming into effect tomorrow, many people still don’t know exactly what they’ll be paying 8% more for after midnight. As part of the 74% of taxpayers opposed to having McGuinty put his greedy hands in our wallets, I decided to check into it and the results are interesting.

A few very minor concessions have been made to make it seem as though Dalton is not trying to bankrupt families, but ultimately the guy who got elected on a platform of not raising taxes is about to hit your bank account hard.

Coffee which costs $1.52 will not see an increase, but a $60 tank of gas will now cost you $64.80, so if you burn a tank a week that’s $249.60 more out of your pocket each year.

The red hot summer of 2010

Attacks on Ontario infrastructure are escalating quickly this month, and from the sounds of things it’s going to get much worse before it gets any better. We bowed down quickly to threats of blockades if Natives were not made exempt from the HST that will increase the cost of living for the rest of us by 8% on July 1^st, but giving in to them seems to have fuelled the desire of some to wreak havoc on innocent people.

A group of Natives decided to shut down highway 403 last weekend where it meets the Lincoln Alexander Parkway in Hamilton, so the OPP and Hamilton Police shut down the highway so that this little group of malcontents could “march peacefully” on a major highway. Never mind the impact on countless thousands of people trying to go about their business on the fathers day weekend, some Natives wanted to walk on the freeway, so the cops helped them do it.

Natives to blockade 403 or 400 during new “day of action”

Two “red power” protests are being planned for June 24^th 2010 that will (hopefully) finally test the patience of the Canadian government who talks tough but does nothing to stop Native protests which at times have escalated to terrorism.

According to a wide variety of media sources including Native media, a group calling itself red power united intends to blockade highway 403, or highway 400 next week as well as the Trans Canada Highway because they don’t approve of the G20. This same group disapproved of the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and ultimately their “peaceful” protest turned into a group of anarchists destroying property, and attacking police in the downtown core.

The 403 runs from Woodstock, Ont., to Mississauga, Ont., just west of Toronto, and Highway 400 runs north between Toronto and Barrie, Ont. A blockade of either would tie up thousands of people for no reason at all and since it is apparently designed to force a political agenda, would amount to terrorism.

Christie Blatchford: McHale outfoxed the crown

An exercise in futility may be the most appropriate way to describe the crown’s efforts in Cayuga court yesterday.

Christie Blatchford of the Globe & Mail summed up the session quite nicely in her latest column stating: “The absurd exercise lends credence to speculation that the AG was planning to stay the charge against the OPP boss yesterday, but was outfoxed by Mr. McHale, who complained in writing last Wednesday that the earlier date wouldn’t allow him to prepare properly or present his evidence to the Crown.” If you have not yet done so I can not strongly enough recommend reading her column here.

After Gary McHale succeeded in having a criminal charge of attempting to influence a municipal official laid against Julian Fantino, the crown needed a plan to make the charge that they argued against in Superior court go away to appease the government who signs their pay cheques while still somehow appearing neutral to the public.

Ontario government set to cover for Fantino again?

With a few strokes of the pen, it appears that the McGuinty government is once again set to cover for their appointed civil rights destructor, Julian Fantino. Mr. Fantino told the media just days ago that he intends to “vigorously” defend himself against the criminal charge he’s facing as a result of his threatening email to Haldimand council in 2007, but the crown (an employee of the McGuinty Liberals) appears to be quickly taking steps to subvert the efforts of CANACE and a superior court judge to see Mr. Fantino face the music.

After being cleared of any wrong doing by Monte Kwinter before an investigation into complaints against him had been written, Fantino was emboldened to continue to his campaign against the charter rights and freedoms of non-Native citizens in Ontario, and escalated both his rhetoric against us, and his orders to oppress us. We have always had faith in the justice system to uphold the laws that the OPP have refused to, and as such we moved the battle to restore law and order into the courts in January 2008. It began with my efforts to see a Haldimand councillor charged after an assault on me, and exploded into superior court where judges have upheld our beliefs and consistently rebuked the crown for their position that OPP officers and government officials are not subject to the law during a Native land claim.

Desperate Finley brings Flaherty & Harper to Haldimand Norfolk

Lest there be any doubt that Diane Finley is a desperate woman whose campaign has gone up in flames, we have confirmation today that she is skipping yet another debate (this time shunning the Rotory club in Simcoe) to spend the day travelling around Caledonia with the minister of finance Jim Flaherty.

Hopefully someone will think to ask him about the $0 he has given to the businesses and residents of Caledonia and the millions given to the OPP to nap in their cars for the past 2 ½ years.

Just in case sauntering around with Flaherty isn’t enough to blind voters to the fact that she abandoned them as soon as the going got tough, a plane carrying Prime Minister Stephen Harper is scheduled to land at Mount Hope airport tomorrow.

Perhaps while Harper is trying to schmooze with the little people in this riding, someone can ask him where he’s been while the residents of Caledonia have been under attack.

Liberals endorse McHale?

Last night during the all candidates meeting in Dunnville, Liberal candidate for Haldimand Norfolk Dr. Hoskins was given the unfortunate task of trying to follow an excellent and passionate closing speech by Gary McHale.

Perhaps he was rattled by the ovation that McHale had just received, perhaps he was missing Diane Finley who didn’t bother to show up, or perhaps he simply didn’t know how to handle a riding in which the Liberals are not dominant, but in any case he made a startling statement during his closing remarks.

“Listen, you know to be honest for a moment, Gary again I think he’s just you’ve provided these people with a very good argument of why they shouldn’t send you to Ottawa, (groaning from the audience) that that you uh have a very good understanding of a specific issue, and and um it’s a big riding, and politics is tough”

McHale will bring peace & justice – Mayor

Haldimand Mayor Marie Trainer had some interesting thoughts for the Brantford Expositor and the Simcoe Reformer when asked this week about Gary McHale running for MP of Haldimand Norfolk in the upcoming federal election. (story)

“With McHale in the race, Trainer says Haldimand’s quest for peace, law and order, stability and justice will feature prominently in the coming campaign. She says McHale will force the other candidates to state their position on the issue of two-tiered justice.”

She’s very clearly implying that without Gary McHale, the other candidates would simply ignore the critical issues facing Haldimand County, and this is coming from a Mayor who has had plenty of dealings with Diane Finley over the past 2 ½ years, so she has some insight into the thought process of the PC candidate that the rest of us do not as nobody has been able to meet or speak with her about Caledonia.
